For crop producers and commercial applicators wanting a smaller, lighter-weight and competitively priced self-propelled sprayer, John Deere adds the R4023 to its 4 Series Sprayer lineup.
The R4023, which replaces the 4630 model, features a 4.5L, 173 horsepower Final Tier 4 engine, new premium cab option, wide and narrow axle configurations and the latest integrated technology customers need to apply crop care products in a timely, efficient manner.
Dave Mulder, product line manager for John Deere application equipment, says the new R4023 Sprayer offers the smaller size, maneuverability, and versatility that farmers and ag service providers need to more easily cover smaller, odd-shaped fields.
“With ever increasing demands on producers and service providers to cover fields quickly during short application windows, the R4023 Sprayer was designed to provide improved ride quality, operator comfort and productivity across a wide variety of field conditions and cropping systems,” Mulder says.
The John Deere R4023 Sprayer features four-wheel hydrostatic drive; 600-gallon poly tank; 80-foot booms that can fold to 60 feet for tight conditions; durable, vibration-resistant C-Channel chassis frame with a suspension dampening Soft Shock option for optimal operator comfort and sprayer performance in rough terrain; and IF tire options that provides a larger footprint and less compaction.
The R4023 also features air springs, optional ventilated seat and additional cab soundproofing improvements, auto-leveling package and sprayer-specific CommandARM for fingertip control and monitoring of all machine functions. The latest technologies integrated into the sprayer that customers will appreciate include AutoTrac, SprayStar, BoomTrac Pro, John Deere Section Control and Boom Return to Height.
JDLink is also available on all machines and enables Remote Display Access, Service Advisor Remote and Wireless Data Transfer. These are all part of the John Deere FarmSight experience available through local dealers to help customers more efficiently utilize their machines.
“Weighing in at 18,165 pounds, the new R4023 Sprayer is a perfect fit for cotton, corn, soybean and small-grain producers, as well as ag service providers wanting a smaller, versatile machine that’s easier to transport on a trailer and store. Yet, this sprayer still provides the capacity to cover fields quickly and efficiently,” Mulder says. “Plus, these smaller sprayers are now Final Tier 4-compliant and offer many of the application technology and comfort features found on our larger 4 Series Sprayers at a very competitive price.”
