With the termination of the planned acquisition of Precision Planting by Deere — approximately one month prior to a scheduled court date — it’s an interesting outcome that begs the question – what’s next?
One Midwest strip-tiller expressed concern about the dissolution of the deal after adding about $100,000 in Precision Planting technology on his used 24-row John Deere planter during the last 2 years. "I invested quite a bit of money in a planter I bought several years ago, thinking the two companies would be together and my planter would hold its resale value pretty well. Now, that might change," he says.
