“We’re excited these 12 leading companies want to support strip-tillers around the world with 2 days of money and time-saving ideas and strategies that the strip-till community can put into practice right away,” says Jack Zemlicka, managing editor of Strip-Till Farmer. “Our goal is to deliver the most insightful learning and networking event to strip-tillers, and we wouldn’t be able to do so without the support of these businesses.”
The first four conferences, held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, Bloomington, Ill., and Omaha, Neb., attracted hundreds of national and international attendees. The 2017 conference alone connected 375 attendees from more than 24 states and 3 continents during 7 general sessions, 12 classrooms, 26 roundtables and on-site networking.
A full conference program will be released soon, but initial speakers identified for the 2018 conference include:
- Laurent (Woody) Van Arkel, strip-till farmer, Dresden, Ontario
- Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Extension Educator of Crops at the University of Minnesota Extension
- Ray Asebedo, Professor of Precision Agriculture at Kansas St. University
- Paul Hamann, strip-till farmer, Fountain, Minn.

The 2018 event will also feature an exclusive 3-hour workshop, “Getting to the Root of Your Strip-Till Soil Health,” with expert soil scientist Mike Petersen, who has nearly 45 years of experience in the field as an agronomist and soil health expert. Attendees will go into the field with Petersen and gain hands-on, in-depth analysis, tips and proven techniques for improving soil health and root structure.
