CARY, N.C. – Verdesian Life Sciences is pleased to introduce Trident, a new series of premium nitrogen stabilizers for row and specialty crops. Trident offers a patent-pending combination of our co-polymer and solvent blend with time-tested active ingredients NBPT and DCD to protect against all three forms of nitrogen loss: volatilization, nitrification, and denitrification. Trident complements Verdesian’s existing premium nitrogen stabilizer portfolio.
With three different formulations, Trident allows growers to choose the product that best fits their operational needs to protect their nitrogen investment. All formulations of Trident can be used in either urea or UAN fertilizers.
The co-polymer solvent blend stabilizes the formulation and enhances the effectiveness of the NBPT and DCD, driving strong yield performance with a lower overall chemical load to the soil, limiting the impact to soil health. With a flexible use rate of 1.5-2.5 quarts per ton of fertilizer, growers may lower the chemical load by up to 40 percent compared to some other NBPT-based products while maintaining performance.
“While many nitrogen stabilizers on the market focus on protecting against a single form of nitrogen loss, Trident gives growers confidence that, whatever the weather brings, they have a product that will help protect their nitrogen investment against all forms of loss, and improve their Nitrogen Use Efficiency” says Mike Zwingman, Verdesian’s Senior Technical Services Manager.
2020 trial results across 16 sites and 80 replications across 12 states showed an average 4.5 percent yield increase across the Trident product line compared to the untreated check, giving the grower a strong return on their investment.
