USDA's crop progress report for the week ended September 12 reported 87% of corn dented, below the 88% reported dented in the same week last year. The 5-year average for corn dented in this week was 81%.

Some 37% of corn crops were reported mature, below the 39% reported mature in the same week last year. USDA reported 4% of corn crops harvested, below the 5% reported harvested by this time in 2020.

Around 44% of corn crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 14% in "excellent" condition and 27% in "fair condition."

Some 38% of soybean crops were reportedly dropping leaves, above the 35% reported dropping leaves in the same week last year. The 5-year average for soybeans dropping leaves in this week was 29%.

Some 45% of soybean crops were reported in "good" condition, with another 12% in "excellent" condition and 29% in "fair condition."
