First Look: FurrowVision Provides View of Seed at Planting
John Deere showcased some of its new precision technology at the company’s demonstration farm in Austin, Texas last week, including a new planter performance upgrade called FurrowVision. What Does it Take to Grow 100-Bushel-Per-Acre Soybeans?
A team of Pioneer agronomists tackle the above question in this FarmProgress feature. “Weather plays a larger role…but there are pieces we can identify which seem to be important for higher yields,” says Matt Clover, Pioneer agronomy manager.
Irish Farmer Stays Productive in Bad Weather Thanks to Strip-Till
Irish Farmers Journal catches up with Tony Bell, as he prepares for a busy spring in Balbriggan, Co Dublin. Bell strip-tilled soybeans in early March, despite heavy rainfall. “Land is holding up well and is trafficable, something Tony puts down to his strip-tillage system,” the article notes.
How Planting Depth Affects Corn Emergence
In this YouTube video, Pioneer Field Agronomist Paul Yoder explains how planting depth can cause uneven emergence and how to make planter adjustments if you find variability in your planting depth.
