Crystal Green (5-28-0 with 10% Mg) is the only granular phosphate fertilizer that releases nutrients in response to crop demand. With its unique organic acid solubility, delivering phosphorus plus magnesium and nitrogen, Crystal Green enables growers to do more with less, achieving higher yields with fewer inputs and reduced environmental impact.
First Generation Farmer Uses Strip-Till to Overcome Financial Challenges
Farmers Weekly just published this feature on first generation farmer Matthew Williams, who runs a 2,700 acre operation. Williams details how conservation practices like strip-till have helped him solve some of the biggest challenges that come with being a young farmer. “Farming without subsidies and land-based assets as a fallback means we have to focus on every input and achieve optimal yields to make a margin,” he says.
In the Cab with a First Time Strip-Tiller
Farming with Kels on YouTube takes us along for the ride as she builds strips for the first time on her Minnesota farm.
Strip-Till Soil Pit Shows Rhizobium 20 Inches Deep
University of Minnesota extension educator Jodi DeJong-Hughes has pretty much seen it all in her career studying strip-till, but apparently not this!
#Rhizobium at 20" in the soil! In all the soil pits I have been in (20+ years) I have not seen this before. Most rhizobium nodules are in the top 6". This is a #striptill corn and #Notill beans 10+ years. Field day starts at 4 at Dave Legvold farm near N field #SoilHealth pic.twitter.com/OJSyokFtOd

Precision Tech a Hot Topic at Strip-Till Conference
Precision technology and strip-till go together like peas and carrots, which is why it shouldn’t be a huge surprise that precision technology themed classroom sessions were among the most popular at the 10th annual National Strip-Tillage Conference in Bloomington, Ill. Classroom speaker Pete Youngblut, owner of independent precision dealer Youngblut Ag, and a strip-tiller himself, says he’s never had so many customers this interested in strip-till.
Fall Cover Crop Considerations for Strip-Tillers
With fall just around the corner, it’s time to think about where you’ll source your cover crop seed and who will apply the seed. In this video, Roger Wilcox, one of the owners of Old 20 Ag Supply, notes that to optimize your ROI on cover crop expenses, you should seed within specific windows.
