Darren Allen of Ballymaloe Farm in Ireland recently conducted a few different trials with varying tillage methods and biologicals. The strip-tilled winter wheat outperformed conventional tillage in yield and profit margin.

This grower averted a major crisis after a fire broke out in his combine, thanks to an ingenious use of fire extinguishing balls. “Good to see Lexi still standing this morning after a smoldering fire in the chopper area last evening,” he writes. “Never did figure out the cause, other than these Merschman soybeans are so hot!
