Strip-Tiller Details “Corn-on-Corn-on-Corn” System
Warren Schneckenburger says his family historically grew a “crapload of corn on corn” until the early 2000s. They’ve since switched to strip-till and have added soybeans to their rotation. Schneckenburger’s rotation is now as follows: 3 years of corn, followed by 2 years of soybeans and 1 year of wheat. Read more about Schneckenburger’s strip-till system in this article from Farmers Forum.
Legendary Football Coach Becomes Full-Time Farmer
From high scores to high yields, Danny Ford has traded his whistle for a tractor. Football die-hards know Ford as the youngest coach to win an NCAA National Football Championship. He won it all in 1981 as a 33-year-old head coach with Clemson. FarmProgress profiles his journey from the football field to the farm field.
