Key Features of the CoreScan™:
- Operational Efficiency: Using the automated system, the probe can cover up to 50 acres per hour (at a 1-acre density).
- In-Crop Sensing: The CoreScan™ is engaged only at sensing locations, allowing mapping during the growing season.
- Nutrient Modeling: Leveraging lab data, machine learning and the dense sensor data from the CoreScan™, natural nutrient variations can be modeled and verified for accurate fertilizer recommendations.
- Soil Sample Validation System: Includes soil coring hardware, with quality control and sensor-to-lab data fusion service via the FieldFusion™ cloud platform.
- Compaction Measurement: Equipped with force sensors to measure soil compaction, crucial for root growth and nutrient uptake.
- Soil Carbon/Organic Matter: Utilizes a dual-wavelength Vis-NIR optical sensor to assess organic matter and carbon content, essential for evaluating soil health and carbon sequestration.
- Soil Texture and Nutrient Holding Capacity: A Bulk Apparent Electrical Conductivity (ECa) sensor determines soil texture variations and predicts water-holding capacity and cation exchange capacity (CEC).
Proven Results
A 10-field, 5-state study revealed that using CoreScan™ and the Veris data processing system, has the potential to remove the most significant errors of conventional sampling and showed a 35% improvement in phosphorus recommendations.
