Breaking 200-Bushel Soybean Barrier with Strip-Till
Check out this conversation with Schlagel Manufacturing’s Jonathan Spence and Leesburg, Ga., strip-tiller Alex Harrell. Harrell used a Schlagel Rapid Till through terminated cover crops ahead of his record-breaking 218-bushel soybean yield.
RAPID TILL: We sat down with Jonathan Spence of Schlagel and Leesburg, Ga., strip-tiller Alex Harrell at @FPShow to discuss how the Schlagel Rapid Till was key to Harrell's record-breaking 218-bushel soybean yield. Full interview coming soon, here's a clip! #FPS24 pic.twitter.com/sEtPbH62JZ

Biologicals — Why Focusing on Soil Health Should Come First
In this video, Jesse from American Beef Ranch explains why even though biologicals can be a valuable resource for farmers, he feels that many farmers would be better off focusing on soil health to reinvigorate the biology that is already in the soil.
Alberta Research Trials Test Strip-Till & Cover Crops
The Farming Smarter research group’s strip-till and cover crop trials in Southern Alberta are covered in this feature from Grain News. “It is only an anecdotal experience, but I believe it (strip-till) did make a difference (in reducing erosion),” says Lewis Baarda, manager of the research trials. “I traveled to the research trial this spring after the crop was seeded, and on that day the wind was blowing and there was a lot of soil blowing off nearby fields that were conventionally farmed and seeded, but no sign of any soil moving off the field that was strip-tilled. It wasn’t a scientific measurement, but it appeared that something made the difference.”
The Benefits of Low-Disturbance Manure Applications
Dave Eisentraut of Eisentraut Ag Service in Waldo, Wis., demonstrated his low-disturbance manure application system during a Dodge County Field Day. Read more about how he executes the system and the potential benefits from it in this article from Wisconsin State Farmer.
