The Strip-Till Farmer crew had boots on the ground at multiple shows over the winter, including the World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif., the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky., and Commodity Classic 2025 in Denver, Colo. Many of the big players in the strip-till game had booths at the shows, and quite a few of them showcased brand-new offerings. Farmers told these companies what they wanted, and they listened, delivering the following solutions to help strip-tillers tackle some of their biggest challenges.
LandLuvr Rock Unit
LandLuvr unveiled its new Rock Unit, which is designed for strip-tilling fields with numerous large rocks. Its key feature is a torsion-mounted lead coulter that lifts both the row unit and shank to prevent damage.
“With this unit, you can also drop the shank out and put in a double coulter to act as a strip-freshening unit in the spring,” says John Rohrs, LandLuvr owner.
Redball STRT850
Redball debuted its STRT850 strip-till unit — a versatile tool that can be used multiple times throughout the year.
“We can get 3 seasons of use out of this machine by strip-tilling in the fall, following up and refreshing in the spring, and you can offset the row unit on the 3-point hitch and use it for summer reservoir tillage to trap some of the moisture the Good Lord has given us from rain,” says Drew Stallings, southeast territory sales specialist for Redball.
The STRT850 can also be used for sidedressing nitrogen (N), applying dry fertilizer and seeding cover crops.
ETS Cover Crop Applicator

Speaking of cover crops, Environmental Tillage Systems (ETS) launched its Cover Crop Applicator at Commodity Classic. It allows strip-tillers to seed cover crops while they’re making strips and applying fertilizer.
“It’s mounted on the front of the SoilWarrior and the seed is delivered through air to the rear of the machine,” says Sean Arthur, ETS regional sales manager. “There are blockage sensors to make sure there’s consistent flow out of the tubes and there are multiple locations where you can apply the cover crops — either directly into the strips or between the strips.”
Yetter Air Assist Cylinder Kit
Yetter’s new Air Assist cylinder kit for floating row cleaners allows strip-tillers to adjust their row units from the comfort of their cab at a more affordable cost.
“It’s similar to what you can do with our Air Adjust system but represents a lower-costing entry point to adjustability from the cab,” says Andy Thompson, Yetter AOR manager. “It’s a non-active, closed loop system with no electronics, and allows us to control downforce with ‘up pressure’ and ‘down pressure’ options on the monitor.”
Kuhn Krause Liqui-PRO
The Kuhn Krause Liqui-PRO fertilizer application system for Gladiator toolbars was front and center at the company’s National Farm Machinery Show booth.
“The system features an ISOBUS compatible variable rate controller, and it also has our flow-sensing technology to detect any blockage in individual rows,” says Michael Berggren, Kuhn Krause product manager. “We’ve also upgraded our tank size on the Gladiator toolbars from 1,000 gallons to 1,600 gallons.”
