James Schoff, strip-tiller from Walnut, Illinois, talks about his first ventures into strip-till and the big differences he sees between strip-till and conventional. The greatest benefits he's seen from fall strip-till are an enhanced, clean seed bed for planting and stronger stand establishment.
Schoff is currently participating in Mosaic's "Pursuit of 300" program. The Pursuit of 300 is made up of six progressive growers from six states with one goal: 300-bushel corn. Each Pursuit farmer has worked with a Mosaic agronomist and their retail partners to develop specific plans for their Pursuit fields, of which at least 100 acres are dedicated to new agronomy practices, to increase yields and maximize efficiency. The farmers also communicate with each other on their methods.
