Sly Europe, which makes US-designed, French-made Stripcat strip-till drills, is now offering a further version called the Stripcat II.
More than 100 units of the existing machine were sold in the first year, says the company, but the new version is said to be more versatile and easier to set up.
A new packer system with Contitech pneumatic springs gives downward pressure adjustable from 0-590kg, depth setting on the tine with no tools needed and adjustable strip width. All the daily settings can be adjusted without tools.
The working parts of the Stripcat have not been modified, says the company. However the unit is now supported by two Otico Farmflex RIS wheels and the front coulter is followed by Sunco trash wheels.
The shank is available with six different points and is now mounted on a sliding support to adjust the depth from 75-300mm. The shank is available with shear-bolt or hydraulic auto reset system with one accumulator per unit. Two discs of 40cm with adjustable spring down pressure are said to give adaptability in different soil conditions. The packing system at the rear of the machine is now pneumatic with adjustable pressure from the cab.
The new model is available from four to 12 rows and from 45-80cm row spacing.
