Glyphosate-resistant horseweed populations have become more widespread in the state and are now a significant management issue in western PA and the Northern Tier. In addition to glyphosate- or glyphosate and ALS-inhibitor resistance, horseweed is challenging to control because of variable emergence patterns.

Some soybean producers want to increase soybean yield and net income by applying fertilizer in a 2x2 band at planting — 2 inches to the side of the seed furrow and 2 inches below the seed. High fertilizer prices make it critical for producers to know for sure if their starter fertilizer program is making them money or costing them money. 

Farmers Business Network (FBN), San Carlos, California, on March 30 released its 2022 Planting Report. The FBN Planting Report provides one of the first major survey-based estimates of U.S. farmers’ planting intentions for the year and those market implications, based on more than 2,000 responses responsible for 4.2 million acres across 40 states.
