Frank Moore has a long history of implementing soil and water conservation practices on farms in targeted watersheds, particularly from 15 years ago when he worked with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. The Cresco, Iowa, farmer has transitioned his corn acreage from ridge-till to no-till and most recently strip-till in 2010.
Also a consultant serving farmers in Iowa and Minnesota, Moore will share how he has implemented strip-till, cover crops and nutrient management onto a whole-farm scale in an effort to be more environmentally sound, effective and profitable. He will share his experience incorporating annual ryegrass and radishes as cover crops into strip-till and how they can prevent erosion.
